100 day journey to transform my body from blah to WOW!!!

Bikram Yoga is the 26 postures Sequence selected and developed by Bikram Choudhury from Hatha Yoga.
It has been proved and experienced by millions that these 26 postures systematically work every part of the body, to give all the internal organs, all the veins, all the ligaments, and all the muscles everything they need to maintain optimum health and maximum function. Each component takes care of something different in the body, and yet they all work together synergistically, contributing to the success of every other one, and extending its benefits.
Bikram Yoga can be practiced under the guidance of a certified Bikram Yoga Teacher at one of the affiliated Bikram Yoga studios.
These studios are built in such a way that you always get the proper heating (105F) which help you to do your postures optimally. Bikram calls these studios as “Torture Chambers”.
Happy Hump Day….. Eh, it’s still not close enough to Friday for me.
Went to Bikram last night. It was amazing as usual. The room was hotter than usual. You usually sweat a ton during the 90 minute practice, but last night was ridiculous. I was sweating so much I could barely see. Lol
As much as I love Bikram, I think i need to incorporate some interval training in between my practices. I don’t think Bikram alone will give me the muscle tone I am looking for.
For those interested in Bikram, I will be posting a link to the Bikram College in LA, which provides some background info into the practice.
Namaste =)
So, after a long hiatus, I’m back blogging about my fitness adventures and nutritional ups and downs.
Since my last, I have stopped doing Bodyrock daily. It’s not that I don’t like it or think that it’s not worth my time. I’ve just had a lot of changes to my life over the last few months, some of which I can’t mention in this forum, and Bodyrock wasn’t included in those changes.
For a while I wasn’t getting any form of exercise beyond walking to and from the train station and work. I gained about 10-15 lbs. craziness as I have never weighed this much in my life. I only have myself to blame, though. I went on a fast food binge. Uh oh… Yep, that’s right. I pigged out on some Taco Bell and McDonald’s. Lol!!
My newest fitness endeavor…… Bikram yoga. It’s not new to me at all. I started this practice while living in Maui and loved it.
I’m not exactly sure in what direction this blog will go as its no longer a 100 day fitness challenge. It will be a surprise for everyone, including myself. =)

Stuffed Greek Chicken
Ingredients
2 tablespoons EVOO - Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1/2 medium onion, finely chopped
3 large cloves garlic, finely chopped
One 10-ounce box organic chopped spinach, thawed
Salt and pepper
Freshly grated nutmeg, to taste
3 tablespoons butter
1 cup panko breadcrumbs
1 teaspoon dried oregano (about 1/3 palmful)
4 pieces skinless, boneless chicken breast
1/2 cup crumbled Greek feta cheese
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 425°F. Heat 1 tablespoon EVOO, 1 turn of the pan, in a small skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and 2/3 of the garlic and cook until softened, 3 to 4 minutes. Transfer to a bowl to cool, then add the spinach and season with salt, pepper and nutmeg. Melt the butter in the same pan, turn off the heat and add the panko, oregano and remaining garlic; toss.
Drizzle a baking dish with the remaining 1 tablespoon EVOO. Split each chicken breast across (but not all the way through) and open like a book. Stuff with the spinach and feta, letting the stuffing overflow at the edges. Place the chicken pieces in the baking dish and top with the breadcrumbs. Bake until the juices run clear; about 20 minutes.

Today’s bodyrock post about “being stuck” is so me right now. I’ve been down in the dumps again and I just don’t have the energy to work out. It’s all me, it’s not that i’m too busy to work out. I have all the time in the world beyond school work. When I’m down, I could say fuck it and keep going but I don’t. Today, i was feeling really guilty and did two exercise challenges; one from a few days ago and the one today. The older challenge was the one that included 5 rounds of 4 minute jump roping in between knee raises (i modified with leg lifts). Today’s exercise challenge was kind of fun, it was 5 rounds, 3 combo and 2 jump roping. The combo consisted of 1 monkey push up with knee tuck followed by 10 crab leg lifts x10 per round.
I know I said I would post pictures and recipes, I promise I will get to that by tomorrow. I also promise to do a work out tomorrow since I have been slacking. Even I don’t feel like it, I will press on…..
Nick was in town this weekend and I had a ton of school work to get done. 2000 word research papers are no fun. I took the weekend off. Today I will start with the 300 rep work out and post pictures. I’m a day behind on the pics but…oops. I’ll let you know how I did on the today’s work out.
I made 2 great healthy recipes that I will share with you later!

Ok, So I’ve been having trouble updating my blog daily. It’s not that there’s a problem with the server or my computer, it’s that I’m lazy. I promise to work on this. Hey, at least I can admit it, right? Lol! So, let’s see I’m two days behind…. yesterday, I did the abtastic exercise again. I kind of like that one. I need to work on my abs more. The day before, I did the Ass Busting Work out. I think this is going to be one of my favs.
You start out with with jump lunges and moutain climbers followed for 200 skips and then repeat the jump lunges and mountain climbers. The second part of the work out is 5 minutes intervals of sumo squat lifts and reverse push ups. Each part is repeated one more time.
My scores for the second part are as follows:
Sumo Squat & lift
Round 1: 10, 11, 10
Round 2: 12, 10, 10
Reverse push up
Round 1: 14, 11, 13
Round 2: 12, 10, 10
Today I am taking a break from bodyrock (yes, I’m scared to do the work out from yesterday, the Marine one…. ) and doing an hour of yoga. Plus, my body really needs a good stretching.
Since BR didn’t post an exercise challenge or work out yesterday, I did Saturdays exercise challenge again except I replaced the leg raises with weighted full squats. I’m looking forward to tomorrows (todays) work out.
While shopping for pants I came across a problem with the sizing. I’m naturally small and have always been a size 0 and todays size 0 is not the same as years before. I tried on a pair of pants and they were so big I could put them on and pull them off with out unbuttoning them. I have not lost any weight. In fact, I am currently the biggest I have ever been. Are we sizing up clothes so women can feel better that they are in a smaller size? News flash…. small or large, this isn’t doing anybody any favors.

Today I did yesterdays exercise challenge. It wasn’t bad at all but I did break a sweat and was tired by the end of it. The actual challenge was 100 hanging knee raises but I don’t have anything to do knee raises (well i suppose I could have done on the arms of my treadmill) so, I laid down and did leg raises. The raises were spit into five sets of 20 with four minutes of jump rope in between each set.
I had such a healthy dinner yesterday, grilled salmon with steamed broccoli, and then ruined it today with biscuits and sausage gravy. =( Oh well, I don’t pig out like that often.
